MANDY EMERSON
'I am very drawn to the movement in ones garden that goes on everday undetected by the human race as they scurry to and fro in their busy daily lives in and out of their front doors."BLOOM" is a magnificent word and I have applied my interpretation of 'bloom' in my work of late, hoping to capture the viewers attention to look even closer at my work and find hidden messages at the end of the garden sanctuary.
The products I apply are all added in series of layers giving them an almost vintage antique look as if they have been stored away in an attic somewhere waiting to be re-discovered,waiting to have the dust erased once again in the home that they belong in.
The presence of grand dresses, trees and birds nests are a representation to me of the strong nurturing figure, ie: nests cradle the eggs.the tree cradles the nest and the Mannequin representaion speaks for itself, the female.
After all,the home and the garden is a nurturing place."
